 CYO Tournament Rules
CYO Tournaments are hosted by parishes or by
Catholic High Schools in the Oakland Diocese. Tournaments are by invitation
and open only to CYO teams.
No CYO basketball team may play more than one game per day. League play
shall take priority over tournament play.
Tournaments may only last for three weeks or less for a particular grade
level.
Tournament Limitations:
- Teams may participate
in a maximum of 4 tournaments per season.
- Included in these 4
tournaments, only 2 may be in non-CYO Sanctioned Tournaments
- Teams may not leave
the Bay Area to play in tournaments without permission of the CYO
Office.
- League or Diocesan
Playoffs shall not be considered a tournament, except for the Girls
National (non-Diocese sanctioned) “NorCal” Tournament, which is
considered a tournament within the limits of this rule.
Tournament Fees:
- St. Monica’s
reimburses the cost of two tournaments for each team, provided however, STMO
will reimburse for only ONE MVP tournament
given the higher cost of MVP tournaments. Coaches are encouraged to
discuss with parents what level of participation they are willing to
bear in terms of the cost of tournaments prior to registering for same.
